Join local architects, engineers, contractors, building and design professionals, and other community members in continuing the transformation of the Central Coast into a sustainable community, economy, and environment through education and advocacy of green building design, construction, and operational excellence. The CCGBC is an aligned chapter of USGBC National; however, we are 100% supported by the local sponsors, members, and community members. Homegrown on the Central Coast, we are here because of your support!
At CCGBC, we have a board of 14 volunteers, and we have two part-time paid staff who manage all of the administrative duties of our organization. A large portion of donations go to our staffers to be able to coordinate all that CCGBC offers our members. The rest of the contributions go directly towards member services, educational events, and organizational operations. Sponsoring local events helps to offset costs for food, printing, guest speakers, educational material, and more. When you specifically contribute to our Green Schools program, 100% of the received funds go towards individual green building projects at schools in our communities. "National Membership" is best for companies and businesses that want to have access to and be listed in USGBC National's business directory. We earn 10% of National Member Dues from those companies who sign up within our region.
"Chapter Membership" and "Sponsorship" are for the local chapter members to gain access to the local resources that the Central Coast Green Building Council offers such as: Educational opportunities, local code/rebate information, access to local advocacy opportunities, and is ultimately your connection to the green building community at a local level, specifically within our tri-county region. Chapter memberships/sponsorships earn 100% back into the Local chapter funding.
In order to register for the "Discounted Chapter Membership", you will need to have your USGBC member number to complete the form. This option is for companies who are registered with USGBC National and have company employees or affiliates that have registered on the USGBC National site already.
Ultimately, if you want all local and national benefits, first your company registers via USGBC.org then the individual registers as a local Chapter member via ccgreenbuilding.org.
As a sponsor for the local CCGBC how is my donation utilized? A large portion of donations go to our staffers to be able to coordinate all that CCGBC offers to our members. The rest of the funding goes directly into the events themselves, covering costs such as food, printing, paying guest speakers, creating take-away educational material...etc. If you are explicitly a Green Schools Sponsor, then 100% of the funds go into efforts of the Green Schools Program, both for staffing and to the schools projects themselves.
If you are already a member or a sponsor and would like to change your level the steps are:1. Sign into your account 2. Go to your 'Member Profile' on the top right corner 3. Look to 'Membership' then hit 'Change' and follow the prompts. *If you are a member on a personal level, but you want to be a sponsor, then you must create another account for your 'Sponsorship' account. This is because this account functions differently than a normal member and has bundle memberships associated with it. Don't hesitate to contact us at admin@ccgreenbuilding.org with any questions. |
